Actress Selma Blair was arrested following an alleged altercation aboard a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York City on Sunday night. The incident reportedly occurred on Delta Airlines Flight 938, which landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Blair, 54, was taken into custody after the plane landed, according to multiple reports.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey identified Blair as the suspect in the incident, which involved two flight attendants who reported injuries. One flight attendant was bitten during the altercation, while another sustained a laceration. Following the incident, one of the flight attendants was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating the incident, as it is responsible for all incidents aboard aircraft. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has also announced it will investigate the 'passenger disturbance' on the flight.
Blair was reportedly restrained by the flight crew during the incident. After the flight landed, Port Authority Police were called to the scene, and Blair was transported to Jamaica Hospital for evaluation. While in the ambulance, Blair allegedly kicked a Port Authority Police Department (PAPD) officer and later allegedly assaulted a nurse at the hospital.
Blair remains in custody as the investigation continues. No further details on potential charges have been released at this time.
Charges and allegations are not proof of guilt. Anyone charged is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
