Dollar Tree has issued a recall for approximately 360,000 electric balloon pumps due to a burn hazard, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall, announced on October 1, 2026, affects pumps that can overheat, posing a risk of burns to consumers.

The recalled pumps were sold at Dollar Tree stores nationwide, as well as online and through DoorDash, between August 2025 and July 2026. The pumps are made of plastic, feature two nozzles, and are pink with a blue handle. They have two operation modes: continuous and touch-on. The model number 406198 can be found on the silver rating label on the bottom of the product.

The CPSC has reported three incidents of the pumps overheating, including one case where flames were observed inside the unit and another where the unit exploded. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with these incidents.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled pumps immediately. Those who purchased the pumps in-store should return them to any Dollar Tree location for a full refund. Customers who bought the pumps online should contact Dollar Tree to receive a pre-paid shipping label for returning the product.

Dollar Tree can be reached at 877-530-8733 between 7 a. m. and 11 p.

m. ET, via email at ddirect@dollartree. com, or through their website at dollartree.

Federal law prohibits the sale of products subject to a CPSC-ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC. The CPSC, which has been protecting the public from unreasonable risks associated with consumer products for over 50 years, emphasizes the importance of adhering to recall instructions to prevent potential injuries.

This recall highlights the ongoing efforts by the CPSC and companies like Dollar Tree to ensure consumer safety and prevent injuries from defective products. Consumers are encouraged to check the CPSC website or Dollar Tree's recall information page for further details and updates on the recall process.
