Two major recalls have been announced for dressers from SOOWERY and Yinklev due to significant safety hazards. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported that both brands' dressers pose risks of tip-over and entrapment, which could lead to serious injury or death, particularly for children.

SOOWERY 8-Drawer Fabric Dressers

SOOWERY has recalled its 8-Drawer Fabric Dressers, which are unstable if not anchored to the wall. These dressers violate the mandatory safety standards required by the STURDY Act. The CPSC advises consumers to stop using these dressers immediately if they are not secured to a wall. Consumers should ensure these dressers are placed in areas inaccessible to children.

The recalled dressers are characterized by their eight fabric drawers and metal frames, measuring 47. 2 inches wide, 11. 8 inches long, 35.

4 inches tall, and weighing 47. 5 pounds. The SKU 'SOO-8DD-G01' is printed on the product's packaging.

To obtain a full refund, consumers are instructed to mark the dressers with "RECALLED" in permanent marker on the top, front, and sides, remove all drawers, and send photos of the marked and disassembled dresser to SOOWERYrecall@outlook. com.

Yinklev Jocoevol 6-Drawer Dressers

Similarly, Yinklev has issued a recall for its Jocoevol 6-Drawer Dressers. These dressers also fail to meet the safety standards mandated by the STURDY Act, presenting the same tip-over and entrapment hazards. Consumers are urged to discontinue use of these dressers if they are not anchored to the wall and to keep them out of children's reach.

The Yinklev dressers come in black, pink, brown, and white, and are made from engineered wood. They measure 47. 2 inches wide, 15.

3 inches long, 32. 3 inches tall, and weigh 97 pounds. The model number 'C-0633' can be found on a label inside the top left drawer.

For a refund, consumers should write "RECALLED" on the dresser and send a photo to Jocoevoldresserrecall@outlook. com.

CPSC's Role and Consumer Guidance

The CPSC plays a crucial role in protecting the public from unreasonable risks associated with consumer products. It is illegal under federal law to sell products that are subject to a Commission-ordered recall or a voluntary recall in consultation with the CPSC. The agency emphasizes the importance of adhering to recall instructions to prevent potential injuries or fatalities.

Consumers affected by these recalls are encouraged to follow the specified procedures to ensure their safety and receive compensation. The recalls highlight the ongoing need for vigilance in product safety compliance and consumer awareness.
