Designs Direct has issued a recall for its Cupcakes and Cashmere Brand Three-Light Floor Lamps due to significant safety concerns. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall, citing risks of fire and burn hazards associated with the lamps.

The recall affects two specific models of the floor lamps, identified as model 7927-OZ and model 7927-OZ1. These lamps are approximately 63 inches tall and feature three six-inch diameter glass globe lampshades. The model 7927-OZ comes in gold with multi-colored lampshades, while model 7927-OZ1 is gold with cream lampshades. Both models have been linked to incidents where the lamp cord or internal wiring can smoke, melt, spark, overheat, or ignite when plugged in or switched on, posing a risk of serious injury.

Immediate Action Required

Consumers who own these lamps are urged to stop using them immediately. The CPSC advises turning off and unplugging the lamps to prevent any potential hazards. To facilitate the recall process, consumers are instructed to cut the cord of the lamp and provide a photograph of the destroyed product. Designs Direct will issue a full refund within 15 days of receiving the photo proof of destruction.

The model numbers can be found on a sticker located on the underside of the lamp's base. Additionally, HomeGoods style numbers, which are associated with these models, are located on the original price hangtag. The style numbers for model 7927-OZ are 190734 and 211918, while those for model 7927-OZ1 are 192249, 208605, and 213058.
