Two men involved in a methamphetamine distribution network impacting North Louisiana have been sentenced to federal prison terms, according to the U. S. Attorney's Office.
Johnny Bradshaw, 34, of Bastrop, and Travis Peterson, 36, of Garland, Texas, were sentenced on October 9, 2026, by United States Chief District Judge Terry A. Doughty.
Bradshaw received a sentence of 144 months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release. He pled guilty to the charge of Conspiracy to Possess a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute on June 22, 2026. Peterson was sentenced to 57 months in federal prison, also followed by five years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to the same charge on June 23, 2026.
Bradshaw's Role in the Network
Court records reveal that between May and July 2025, Bradshaw was actively involved with co-conspirators in a methamphetamine distribution network operating in and around Bastrop. Investigators intercepted communications between Bradshaw and a co-conspirator discussing multiple drug transactions, including a significant shipment from Texas. Surveillance captured Bradshaw arriving at a local residence, where he discussed money owed for the shipment with a co-conspirator. On July 22, 2025, investigators conducted a controlled purchase of approximately 110 grams of methamphetamine from Bradshaw, leading to his arrest.
Peterson's Involvement as a Transporter
Peterson served as a primary transporter for the Texas-based source supplying methamphetamine to the network. According to court records, investigators intercepted calls where Peterson coordinated shipments with co-conspirators. In July 2025, he was observed arriving at a residence with luggage believed to contain narcotics.
Later, in late August and early September 2025, Peterson arranged the transport of approximately 28 kilograms of methamphetamine. Another shipment followed in October 2025, when Peterson provided a load of methamphetamine from his Texas residence. During a subsequent traffic stop involving his co-conspirators, investigators seized approximately 23 kilograms of methamphetamine concealed in an orange suitcase.
The cases were investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Louisiana State Police, and the Morehouse Parish Sheriff’s Office. They were prosecuted by Assistant U. S.
Attorney J. Aaron Crawford, with assistance from Legal Assistant Amanda Morgan.
