Residents of a Haslet subdivision are expressing growing frustration over a series of large house parties being held by teenagers at vacant homes in the neighborhood. These gatherings have been occurring for the past few months, with local high school students taking advantage of the completed but unoccupied houses.

The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office has reported that each of these homes has sustained damage due to the parties. In one notable incident, two teenagers were arrested and charged with felony assault on a deputy during an earlier party. Although a recent party on October 3 was broken up by police, it did not result in any arrests.

Haslet Mayor Gary Hulsey has acknowledged that the city has been aware of these parties for the last five months. Despite efforts to curb the gatherings by increasing patrols by the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, the parties have persisted. At one previous event, over 100 teenagers were reported to have attended.

The ongoing issue has prompted the city to continue its efforts to address the situation, with heightened police presence in the area to deter future parties. However, the challenge remains as residents and authorities work to find a solution to the problem that has disrupted the peace in this newer neighborhood.
