Ponce Man Indicted on Child Exploitation Charges

Faustino David Reyes-Rodríguez, a 25-year-old resident of Ponce, Puerto Rico, has been indicted on charges related to child exploitation. The indictment, returned by a federal grand jury on September 23, 2026, accuses Reyes-Rodríguez of possession, receipt, and distribution of child sexual abuse material, according to an announcement by Héctor Ramírez-Carbó, Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Puerto Rico.

The arrest of Reyes-Rodríguez followed an investigation conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with assistance from the Puerto Rico Police Bureau (PRPB) and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Puerto Rico. The investigation led to the charges that Reyes-Rodríguez had allegedly engaged in activities involving child sexual abuse material.

Reyes-Rodríguez was residing in Caguas at the time of the indictment. The charges against him are serious, involving the alleged possession, receipt, and distribution of illicit material, which are significant offenses under federal law.

The case highlights the collaborative efforts of federal and local law enforcement agencies in tackling child exploitation crimes. The U.S. Attorney’s Office, along with HSI and PRPB, continue to prioritize the investigation and prosecution of such offenses to protect vulnerable populations.

As the legal process unfolds, it is important to note that an indictment is merely an allegation, and Reyes-Rodríguez is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
