A 15-year-old boy has been charged with manslaughter following the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Cristopher Nevarez in Dallas, Texas. The incident occurred on the evening of October 3, when both individuals were inside a car.

According to reports, the shooting took place around 7:30 p. m. Nevarez and the juvenile suspect arrived at a hospital located in the 8200 block of Walnut Hill Lane shortly after the incident.

Investigators determined that the 15-year-old shot Nevarez from behind, with the bullet striking Nevarez in the neck. The gunfire also injured the 15-year-old, hitting him in the hand.

Nevarez succumbed to his injuries two days later, prompting the Dallas Police to upgrade the charges against the juvenile from aggravated assault with a deadly weapon to manslaughter. The suspect was arrested by the Dallas Police Fugitive Unit on October 5.

The police have not disclosed what led to the shooting, nor have they clarified the relationship between Nevarez and the suspect. Due to the suspect's age, his name has not been released. The juvenile remains in police custody as the investigation continues.

The tragic event has left many questions unanswered, as authorities work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The community awaits further details as the legal process unfolds.

Charges and allegations are not proof of guilt. Anyone charged is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
