ABC Trading and LLK Trading have issued recalls for their squishy toys due to serious safety concerns involving water beads that pose a deadly ingestion hazard to children. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recalls, highlighting that the toys violate mandatory safety standards as the water beads inside them expand larger than permitted.

ABC Trading Recall

ABC Trading's recall involves squishy dumpling and crazy squib ball toys. The squishy dumplings, model 3655, are available in multiple translucent colors and contain glitter and water beads. These toys feature a cartoon face and are packaged in a tan plastic container shaped like a bamboo steamer, with "SQUISHY DUMPLING" printed on the packaging.

The crazy squib balls, model 3984, also come in various translucent colors, containing glitter and water beads, and are individually wrapped in white netting. The packaging for these balls reads "CRAZY SQUIB BALL" and "Squeeze it! Throw it!"

Consumers are advised to stop using these toys immediately and contact ABC Trading for a full refund. They should write "RECALLED" on the toys with a permanent marker, dispose of them, and send a photo of the disposed toy to recallabc@gmail.com.

LLK Trading Recall

LLK Trading's recall pertains to Mochi Malrang Mystery Dumpling Toys. These toys are translucent red, contain glitter and water beads, and have a cartoon face. They are packaged in a tan plastic container shaped like a bamboo steamer, with "SOFT and SQUISHY" and "MOCHI MALRANG" visible on the packaging.

Consumers should cease using these toys immediately and contact LLK Trading for a full refund. Similar to the ABC Trading recall, consumers should write "RECALLED" on the toys and their packaging, dispose of them, and email a photo of the items in the trash to llktradinginc@gmail.com.

Safety Concerns and Legal Implications

The CPSC emphasizes that the water beads inside these toys can pose ingestion, choking, and intestinal obstruction hazards if swallowed by children. This can lead to severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and even death. The CPSC is responsible for protecting the public from unreasonable risks associated with consumer products, and federal law prohibits the sale of products subject to a recall.

Both companies are cooperating with the CPSC to ensure consumer safety and compliance with federal regulations. Consumers are urged to follow the recall instructions promptly to prevent any potential harm to children.
