A California man, Markus Hudson Jr. , has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for the sexual exploitation of minors, according to the U. S.

Attorney's Office for the Western District of Texas. The 28-year-old from Sacramento was sentenced in a San Antonio federal court for his involvement in coercing and exploiting minors across two states.

Hudson's criminal activities began in May 2023 when he coerced an adult woman he met on TikTok to sexually assault a six-year-old child in Uvalde, Texas. Prosecutors alleged that Hudson threatened the woman with the distribution of her nude images to her family and friends if she did not comply. The woman carried out the assault during a video call with Hudson, who recorded the act using a second phone. After the incident, Hudson sent images of the assault to one of the woman's former classmates.

In a separate incident in June 2024, Hudson contacted a 14-year-old girl on Snapchat, claiming to have nude images of her. He threatened to shoot up her house unless she complied with his demands. Hudson forced the girl to stand naked during a video call, which he recorded, and then threatened to distribute the images unless she engaged in further sexual activity with other minors. The 14-year-old, under duress, complied, and Hudson recorded the activities, later sending images to her classmates.

Hudson was arrested on December 13, 2024, and was charged in a five-count indictment on January 8, 2025. He pleaded guilty to two counts on April 30, 2026, including production of child pornography and coercion and enticement of a child.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI, Uvalde Police Department, and Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office, as part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sade Bogart prosecuted the case.

U. S. Attorney Justin R.

Simmons emphasized the dangers of social media as a platform for child predators and highlighted the importance of victims speaking out. "These investigations often begin because victims of the sexual abuse and exploitation speak out about the exploitation they have endured," Simmons said. "In cooperation with our law enforcement partners, we will investigate and aggressively prosecute all predators who are intent on ruining the lives of innocent and vulnerable victims."

FBI Special Agent in Charge Daniel Faith remarked on the significance of the sentencing, stating, "The sentencing of Markus Hudson serves as a powerful deterrent to anyone targeting and exploiting the most vulnerable members of our community." Faith acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the law enforcement agencies involved in bringing Hudson to justice.

This case underscores the ongoing efforts of Project Safe Childhood to protect children from online exploitation and ensure that offenders are held accountable for their actions.
