Bear 'Backpack' Triumphs in Fat Bear Week

In this year's Fat Bear Week, brown bear number 89, known as 'Backpack', emerged victorious. Securing 103,344 votes, Backpack triumphed over bear 910, who garnered 98,253 votes in the final round of this popular event. The annual competition, organized by Katmai National Park in Alaska, celebrates the remarkable resilience of the 2,200 brown bears residing in the park.

Now in its thirteenth year, the contest saw participation from 16 magnificent bears, with the National Parks Service expressing gratitude to all. This event highlights both the strength and the spirit of these incredible creatures.
