Greggs has revealed plans to close four of its factories, affecting 740 jobs. The sites being shut down include North Lakes in Cumbria, Pettigrews in Scotland, Seaham in County Durham, and Enfield in Greater London. While distribution will continue from Enfield, manufacturing at Treforest in Wales will also be impacted, though it will remain a distribution center. The closures are part of a strategy expected to cost £60 million initially, but could generate £20 million in annual savings by 2028.
