In the 2026 Fat Bear Week competition, Backpack emerged as the champion. The contest featured sixteen impressive bears, but it was Backpack who took the top spot with 103,334 votes. In a closely contested final round against bear 910, Backpack edged out the competition.

The runner-up garnered 98,253 votes, making it a tight race. Last year's winner, Chunk, was knocked out in the first round this year. Alaska's Fat Bear Week once again captured the fascination of bear enthusiasts everywhere.
