NASA Expands SpaceX Mission Contract
SpaceX to conduct three more NASA missions, increasing its contract's total value and scope.
NASA has awarded SpaceX with three additional missions by modifying their existing contract. This expansion brings the total number of missions contracted with SpaceX to 17. The Crew-15, Crew-16, and Crew-17 missions associated with this modification are valued at 946 million dollars, pushing the total value of the Commercial Crew Transportation Capability, or CCtCap, contract with SpaceX to 5.92 billion dollars. This contract modification will span through the year 2030. Originally, NASA awarded the CCtCap contracts to both Boeing and SpaceX back in 2014, with SpaceX receiving certification for crew transport in November 2020.
