The interchange at Interstate 35 East and Highway 183 has been identified as the most dangerous intersection in Dallas, according to new traffic data analyzed by The Patel Firm. This conclusion is based on data from the Texas Department of Transportation, covering the period up to August 2026.

The analysis revealed that the interchange recorded 70 crashes, making it the leading site for traffic incidents in the city. Following closely behind, the interchange at Interstate 35E and Spur 366 recorded 69 crashes, while the intersection of Interstate 635 and Skillman Street saw 61 crashes.

Dallas stands out among the 11 cities included in the study for having the highest crash severity rate. The data indicates that 3. 7% of crashes in Dallas resulted in serious injuries or fatalities.

This is significantly higher than the lowest recorded crash severity rate of 0. 5% in Laredo.

Another notable finding from the study is that Dallas is the only city where Saturday is the peak day for crashes. In contrast, 10 out of the 11 surveyed cities experience the highest number of crashes on Fridays.

These findings highlight the critical need for traffic safety improvements at key intersections in Dallas, particularly at the Interstate 35E and Highway 183 interchange, which has been identified as the most hazardous road location for 2026.
