Sirkeameo Vandrell Johnson, a 32-year-old resident of Monroe, was found guilty by a federal jury on September 30, 2026, of multiple drug trafficking and firearm offenses. The U.S. Attorney's Office announced that Johnson was convicted of Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Distribution of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, and Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Offense.

Johnson faces a mandatory minimum sentence of at least fifteen years in federal prison, with the possibility of life imprisonment. His sentencing is scheduled for January 6, 2027, before United States Chief District Judge Terry A. Doughty.

The conviction followed a two-day trial where evidence was presented showing that a confidential informant conducted multiple controlled purchases of methamphetamine and firearms from Johnson and a co-conspirator. The informant, equipped with audio and video monitoring devices, made several visits to Johnson to conduct these controlled buys, which were corroborated through law enforcement surveillance. Johnson, who has a prior felony conviction, is prohibited from possessing firearms.

The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Metro Narcotics of Ouachita Parish, Monroe Police Department, Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, and West Monroe Police Department. The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys William Gaskins and Alexandra Porubsky, with assistance from Paralegal Specialist Stephanie Stewart.

This case was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a nationwide initiative coordinated by U. S. Attorneys’ offices in each of the 94 federal districts.

PSN aims to combat violent crime and enhance public safety through strategic partnerships among federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement, prosecutors, and other public safety partners. The initiative emphasizes rapid federal response to violent crime, strategic partnerships, and accountability through the prosecution of the most serious offenses.

The case number for this matter is 3:25-cr-00341-TAD-KDM. Further information and related court documents can be accessed on the website of the District Court for the Western District of Louisiana.
