Eli Rodriguez, a 38-year-old resident of Aubrey, Texas, was arrested on Thursday, October 8, for allegedly secretly recording a woman in a tanning room at a Planet Fitness gym in Frisco. The arrest followed the discovery of multiple videos on Rodriguez's phone, which included recordings of a woman identified as Jane Doe and child pornography.

Rodriguez faces charges of invasive visual recording and possession of child pornography. According to the report, some of the recordings of Jane Doe date back to 2024. The charge of invasive visual recording is classified as a state jail felony in Texas, which carries a potential punishment of 180 days to two years in prison. The possession of child pornography is a third-degree felony, punishable by two to 10 years in prison.

The discovery of the recordings has also led to a lawsuit against Planet Fitness by Jane Doe. She is suing the gym for not reaching out to her after the police discovered the recordings. The lawsuit highlights concerns about the gym's response and handling of the situation after the recordings were found.

As the legal proceedings continue, Rodriguez remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Further court dates or proceedings have not been announced at this time.

Charges and allegations are not proof of guilt. Anyone charged is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
