Governor Abbott Surveys Ross Fire Damage in North Texas
The Ross Fire has prompted evacuations, threatened homes, and caused infrastructure damage in Palo Pinto and Jack counties.
Governor Greg Abbott has visited Palo Pinto and Jack counties to assess the damage caused by the ongoing Ross Fire. Despite threats to homes and infrastructure, no deaths or injuries have been reported. Local evacuations have been prompted by the fire, which has resulted in significant property damage. To date, over 1,300 state responders and 525 pieces of equipment have been deployed to aid in wildfire response efforts. Governor Abbott also took time to serve meals to the first responders working in the field. Texans affected by the wildfire are encouraged to report damages through the state's iSTAT tool.
