Governor Abbott Announces Key Appointments to State Task Forces and Boards

Jessica Devaney appointed to Texas task force on family violence prevention; other key reappointments also announced.

Governor Greg Abbott has announced several significant appointments and reappointments to key state boards and task forces in Texas. He appointed Jessica Devaney to the Family Violence Criminal Homicide Prevention Task Force, which focuses on analyzing risk factors and advising agencies to prevent family violence deaths. There's no set term limit for her position. The Governor also reappointed Kevin Scott and Dan Syphrett to the Gulf Coast Authority Board of Directors, where their terms will extend to August 31, 2028. This board manages water systems and pollution control. Lastly, Manny Salazar was reappointed to the Lone Star Workforce of the Future Fund Advisory Board, with his term expiring on September 1, 2027. This board guides the awarding of workforce development grants.
