Vice President Pressed on Security Failures in Deadly Strike

Joey Amor, whose wife Master Sgt. Nicole Amor was killed in an Iranian drone strike, confronted Vice President JD Vance over what he described as 'fundamental failures' by the U. S.

military. The confrontation occurred during a town hall event hosted by CBS News.

Master Sgt. Nicole Amor, a member of the U. S.

Army Reserve from Minnesota, was one of six people killed in the attack on March 1 at an outpost in Kuwait. This incident remains the deadliest attack on U. S.

forces during the ongoing conflict with Iran.

The Iranian drone strike took place just one day after the U. S. initiated strikes against Iran.

Families of those impacted by the attack have voiced concerns about the adequacy of U. S. military protections for Americans stationed in Kuwait, particularly at the facility at Kuwait's Port of Shuaiba.

According to CBS News, the facility was not adequately fortified to defend against drone attacks, lacking the necessary capabilities to shoot down incoming threats. Additionally, the U.S. Army decided against rebasing troops further from Iran and ignored a request to enhance medical support at the location.

Joey Amor's confrontation with Vice President Vance highlighted these issues, as he pressed for answers regarding the military's strategic decisions and the perceived lapses in security that led to the tragic loss of his wife and others. The town hall provided a platform for Amor and other affected families to seek accountability and assurances that such failures would not be repeated in the future.
