Study on NYC Food Delivery Workers Reveals High Risk of Injury and Distress

Over half of New York's app-based food delivery workers face job-related injuries, with many also experiencing significant psychological distress.

According to an initial, single report, a recent study highlights the challenges faced by New York City's app-based food delivery workers. Conducted by the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy along with the Worker's Justice Project, the study finds that more than half have sustained injuries while on the job. In addition, 40 percent meet the criteria for severe psychological distress. This underscores the demanding and potentially hazardous conditions of app-based food delivery work in the city.
