A 33-year-old man from La Fargeville, New York, has been charged with threatening federal law enforcement officers. Dylan Daniell was arraigned on October 9, 2026, at the federal courthouse in Syracuse, New York, after being charged by criminal complaint, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

According to the complaint, Daniell is accused of making threatening phone calls to a nonprofit Jewish charity organization in May 2026. The calls included inflammatory comments such as threats to "blow up Israel and kill all the Jews" and to "put all the Jews in a gas chamber and kill them." The FBI identified Daniell as the likely user of the phone number used to make these calls.

On October 7, 2026, two FBI agents attempted to interview Daniell at his residence regarding these calls. The complaint alleges that Daniell responded by threatening the agents, stating, "only good cop is a dead cop" and "get the f--- out of here before I pull something out on you." Approximately four hours later, one of the agents received a text message from Daniell's phone, which included further threats, the U.

S. Attorney's Office said.

Daniell was ordered held in custody pending a detention hearing scheduled for October 15, 2026. The charge against him carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. A defendant's sentence is imposed by a judge based on the U.

S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.

First Assistant U. S. Attorney John A.

Sarcone III emphasized the seriousness of the charges, stating, "Let me be absolutely clear: threatening law enforcement officers is not a joke, it is not something that we will brush aside, and it will not be tolerated." Craig Tremaroli, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Albany Field Office, added that the FBI's response "should send a clear message that we will not tolerate threats of violence toward anyone, especially law enforcement officials."

The FBI is investigating the case with assistance from the New York State Police. Assistant U. S.

Attorney Matthew J. McCrobie is prosecuting the case. The charges in the complaint are merely accusations, and Daniell is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Charges and allegations are not proof of guilt. Anyone charged is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
