Geovanny Alexander Pineda Cubias, a citizen of El Salvador unlawfully residing in the United States, has been convicted by a federal jury in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on multiple charges related to drug trafficking and firearms offenses. The jury delivered its verdict on October 15, 2026, finding Pineda Cubias guilty of three counts: possessing a firearm and ammunition as an illegal alien, possessing cocaine with intent to distribute, and possessing firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.
Evidence presented during the trial revealed that Pineda Cubias was actively involved in negotiating drug deals and frequently showcased his criminal activities on social media. He posted photos and videos displaying several pistols, rifles, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and illegal drugs. In one notable incident from October 2025, Pineda Cubias was recorded driving by Tulsa Immigration and Customs Enforcement - Enforcement and Removal Operations (ICE-ERO) while brandishing a pistol and yelling threats and insults.
Pineda Cubias' social media activity further documented nearly a year of cocaine sales, spanning from April 2025 until his arrest in February 2026. The investigation revealed that he had illegally entered the United States in 2016 and had been previously ordered removed from the country in 2023.
The case was investigated by multiple agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Department of Homeland Security, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Mike Flesher, Jessica Wright, and Stephen Flynn prosecuted the case.
Following the conviction, the U. S. Attorney emphasized the importance of holding individuals accountable for illegal activities that endanger public safety.
"This verdict sends a clear message: individuals who arm themselves illegally and fuel drug trafficking in our communities will be held fully accountable," the U. S. Attorney stated.
"Our office will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to remove violent offenders from our neighborhoods and keep the public safe."
The conviction of Pineda Cubias underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and illegal firearms possession, particularly by individuals unlawfully residing in the United States. The case highlights the collaborative efforts of federal and state agencies in addressing these serious offenses.
