Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Gauges reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Geneva, Samson, Kinston, Coffee Springs, Sellersville, Spears, Marl, Lytle, Logan Field Municipal A/P, Marvin Chapel, Pera, Ganer, Chancellor, Weeks, Lucile, Earlytown, Vaughanville, Holley Store, Somerset and Geneva Municipal A/P. Even though rain has nearly ended, small streams and creeks will continue to rise quickly as water makes its way downhill and downstream. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
