Steri-Tech to Settle Clean Air Act Violations

Company agrees to pay $700,000 and reduce ethylene oxide emissions at its Puerto Rico facility.

The Justice Department has announced a proposed settlement agreement with Steri-Tech Incorporated to address allegations of Clean Air Act violations. This settlement, made on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency, involves Steri-Tech's sterilization facility in Salinas, Puerto Rico. As part of the agreement, Steri-Tech will pay a civil penalty of seven hundred thousand dollars. Additionally, the company has committed to reducing its emissions of ethylene oxide by ninety-nine point nine nine percent.
