Nigeria's Ima Gas Project Secures $800M Investment

President Tinubu celebrates a major investment as the Ima Gas Project moves forward with AMNI and TotalEnergies.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the Final Investment Decision on the $800 million Ima Gas Project, developed by AMNI International in partnership with TotalEnergies. Expected to produce about 300 million standard cubic feet of gas daily, the project marks Nigeria's fourth major gas development to reach this milestone under President Tinubu's leadership. The Ima gas field, discovered in 1973, remained untapped for over fifty years. The decision is part of initiatives by Nigerian financial institutions, which have organized financing for 77 percent of the project. Around 60 percent of the project’s workforce will be sourced from local communities like Bonny, Finima, and Andoni in Rivers State. This follows a series of presidential directives aimed at revitalizing Nigeria's oil and gas industry.
