Miami Beach Resident Sentenced for Identity Fraud

A 45-year-old Russian man in Miami receives prison time for fraud and voter registration scheme.

Dmitry Shushlebin, a 45-year-old Russian citizen residing in Miami Beach, has been sentenced to six years in prison. Following his prison term, he will also serve three years of supervised release. Shushlebin was found guilty of organizing an intricate identity theft fraud scheme, which notably included attempts to submit fraudulent voter registrations. In addition to his sentence, Shushlebin has been ordered to pay nearly 459 thousand dollars in restitution.
