FEMA Expands Assistance to More Texas Counties

Governor Abbott announced federal aid extension to additional counties for storm recovery.

Governor Greg Abbott has confirmed that the federal government has updated President Trump's Major Disaster Declaration. This update now includes Grimes, Live Oak, McMullen, and Schleicher counties in FEMA's Public Assistance program. These counties join others already approved for federal aid following July's severe storms and flooding, which impacted many Texas communities. FEMA's program will help with emergency work, and the repair or replacement of damaged facilities. Still pending is Governor Abbott's request for FEMA’s Individual Assistance for 30 affected counties, as well as additional Hazard Mitigation Grant Program resources for broader statewide support.
